Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

How do I create an account?

DAM uses Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In for account creation. Simply tap your preferred sign-in method on the welcome screen and follow the prompts. Your account will be created automatically.

What information do I need during onboarding?

During onboarding, you'll provide your fitness goal, basic body metrics (date of birth, biological sex, height, weight), weekly activity levels, and your average daily step count. This helps us calculate your personalized calorie and macro targets.

Subscription

What subscription plans are available?

DAM offers two Premium options: Yearly at $59.99/year (with a 3-day free trial) or Monthly at $9.99/month. Both include full access to all features including AI meal logging.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime through your Apple ID settings: Open Settings → Tap your name → Tap Subscriptions → Select DAM → Tap Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find your DAM purchase, and follow Apple's refund process.

How do I restore my subscription on a new device?

On the subscription screen, tap "Restore Purchases." If you have an active subscription linked to your Apple ID, your access will be restored automatically.

Using the App

How does the weekly calorie budget work?

Instead of daily calorie targets, DAM gives you a weekly budget. If you eat more on one day, you can eat less on other days to balance out. Your week runs from your chosen start day (default is Monday) through Sunday.

What are Flex Days?

Flex days let you plan for events where you'll eat more than usual (like date nights or holidays). When you schedule a flex day, DAM automatically adjusts your other days so your weekly total stays on track.

How does AI meal logging work?

Describe your meal in plain English (e.g., "grilled chicken breast with rice"), and our AI estimates the calories and macros. You can review and adjust before saving. AI logging requires an internet connection.

What are Step Credits?

When you walk more than your baseline step count, you earn bonus calories. This encourages activity without penalizing you on less active days.

What counts as a Win or Loss?

At the end of each week, you get a Win if your actual calories are within range of your target (90% to 105%). Being too far under OR over counts as a Loss, because the goal is consistency, not extreme restriction.

Account and Data

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account → Confirm. This permanently deletes all your data and cannot be undone.

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use industry-standard security including encrypted connections and secure cloud storage. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Troubleshooting

The app is showing a white screen

Try closing the app completely and reopening it. If the issue persists, check that you have a stable internet connection, as DAM requires connectivity to sync your data.

My subscription isn't being recognized

Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the purchase, then tap "Restore Purchases" on the subscription screen. Check your subscription status in Apple ID Settings.

AI meal logging isn't working

AI features require an internet connection. Make sure you're connected and try again. You can always use manual entry or the food library as alternatives.
